National Honors Society
I am the President of the Dayton Regional STEM School's National Honor Society Chapter. The requirements for the Honor Society are to have a GPA of at least 3.5, and to show excellence in multiple disciplines such as voluntary public service and other extracurricular activities. A committee of teachers then selects the students that exemplify skills and that have proven that they are the best students at the school. Member of the Honor Society, Juniors & Seniors, volunteer around the community in multiple facets to give back.
Our chapter of NHS runs a booth at the annual Relay for Life. In addition, we work to help students at our school by volunteering at the study table.
As President, I initiated and lead a new initiative to help the veterans. I lead members of NHS to raise donations, write letters to veterans, and create scarves to deliver. This new project was planned during the fall of 2015, and will be executed and during the spring of 2016.
